Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Staring pay $30/hr)

Join our dynamic maintenance team as a Mechanical Maintenance Tech and help StarPlus Energy build an effective organization moving toward an electric future.

Core Job Duties:

  • Performs responsibilities of conducting corrective and preventive maintenance of production equipment and their controls to ensure proper operation  
  • Communicates directly with the production department to coordinate preventive maintenance and troubleshooting work in production areas 
  • Prepares and maintains periodic preventive maintenance schedules and checklists, while keeping accurate records of maintenance work orders 
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe work environment

Key Qualifications:

  • Basic maintenance tool understanding and ability to use tools properly  
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical system troubleshooting and repair 
  • Familiarity with electricity, electronics, and fabrication (preferred) 
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of a maintenance position 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to relocate to Kokomo, IN, if not local

Electrical Maintenance Technician (Starting pay $30/hr)

As an Electrical Maintenance Tech at StarPlus Energy, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our cutting-edge electrical systems helping power the future of EV.

Core Job Duties:

  • Responsible for maintaining operational status of all electronic/electrical equipment and performing preventative maintenance tasks 
  • Troubleshoot all electronic/electrical equipment, automation and instrumental issues on equipment (PLC, AC Drives, HMI, devices, etc.) 
  • Participate in and lead maintenance improvement activities while evaluating electrical hardware 
  • Ensure safe work practices and policies are followed

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience with electricity, electrical installation, electronics, controls and programming 
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting and fabrication experience (preferred) 
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of a maintenance position 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to relocate to Kokomo, IN, if not local

Process Engineer ($75-102k depending on experience)

StarPlus Energy needs talented Process Engineers like you to drive the development and enhancement of the EV battery production process, with a primary focus on safety, quality, productivity, and sustainability.

Core Job Duties:

  • Analyze and optimize productivity, yield, and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)  
  • Responsible for defect rate monitoring, improvement, and product sustainability in manufacturing 
  • Lead product and process Continuous Improvement (CI) and development activities 
  • Create, maintain, and update various Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure all operators develop a full understanding of process changes  
  • Collaborate with other departments under direction of the Senior Process Engineer to ensure smooth production flow between each process

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of time studies, line balancing, lean manufacturing, bottleneck analysis, PFMEAs, and process controls
  • Must be able to relocate to Kokomo, IN, if not local

Senior Process Engineer ($95-120k based on experience)

Our Senior Process Engineers develop and optimize the EV battery production process for safety and sustainability, while also monitoring, analyzing, and implementing new processes, procedures, and equipment as needed.

Core Job Duties:

  • Responsible for defect rate monitoring, improvement & product sustainability in manufacturing  
  • Implements Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) & Site Acceptance Test (SAT) protocols 
  • Analyzes and optimizes productivity, yield, and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) 
  • Enhances processes in battery manufacturing systems, including implementing lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen projects 
  • Conducts risk assessments to identify and eliminate future defects 
  • Supervises and conducts training for process engineers

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering
  • 3+ years' experience in a highly automated production environment and continuous improvement
  • 5+ years in Automotive Industry or related mechanical / electrical industry
  • Experience in time studies, line balancing, lean manufacturing, bottleneck analysis, PFMEAs, and process controls
  • Must be able to relocate to Kokomo, IN, if not local
